Beloved

Could you hold onto the truth that… you are beloved, in this very moment.

There are of course many reasons why we might not think this truth includes us– perhaps our thoughts or experiences or conversations with other people have given us a different message*. That being said, I believe with my being that our intrinsic belovedness is… for all of us.

We are each beloved, always, because we are human and God bestows this value to us.

I’m really energized by the fall season, and I’m trying to enjoy as much fall as I can– even though it sure has been hot the past couple weeks in LA. I notice that sometimes I look at photos of beautiful fall colors and leaves cascading to the ground to remind me of the briskness and freshness that fall can bring. So, because of my love for fall, I’m gonna try to connect this post’s theme of belovedness to this season. Let me know what you think. 🙂 Ready?:

Just as some leaves change color in the fall season is certain, so also is our belovedness– in each season of the year and every season of our lives. Perhaps a unique comparison, but the certainty element is true (and hopefully, memorable). 💕

When we notice leaves changing color during this season (in real time, in imagining, or in looking at photos), may this serve as a gentle, kind reminder to us of our belovedness.

Warmly,

Robyn

  • This post springs from last month’s post on Welcoming the Good Truth about Ourselves. Belovedness is one such truth. If you’re looking for big-picture encouragement and inspiration to believe the truth about yourself, look to last month’s post. 💕
  • *Last year, I wrote a post that normalized how negative past experiences can make it really difficult for us to believe the (good) truth about ourselves. In the post, I also provide a framework I learned from the clinical psychologist and neuroscientist, Dr. Kate Truitt, that can help us start believing the (good) truth about ourselves.
